Donna Kemp 69, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at her residence.
Donna was born November 11, 1946 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas R. and Lena Aileen (Cox) Hanks. She graduated in 1987 from Millikin University. Donna retired from K’s Merchandise Mart with over eighteen years of service. She was a life member of the Decatur Genealogy Society. She enjoyed the internet website, Find a Grave, bowling, and most of all, genealogy. Donna married David Kemp on October 11, 1969 in Decatur, IL. They shared forty-six and a half years together.
Surviving are her husband, David Kemp of Decatur; children of the heart, Jeffrey (Bridget) McIntyre of Oakley, IL, Heather (Douglas) Doan of Ridge Spring, SC., Todd (Jeffrey Cook) Russell of Decatur, Candace (John Williams Jr.) Hayes of Decatur; sisters, Nancy Waters of Decatur, Charlotte (Tom Malenshek) Hanks of Decatur; sister of the heart, Claudia Caldwell, Augusta, GA; four grandchildren of the heart; three great-grandchildren of the heart; one niece, one nephew, and one great-nephew.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, birthmother, Ada Marie Cox, brother-in-law, Norman Waters.
Services to celebrate Donna’s life will be at 11am Friday, August 5, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to the Decatur Genealogy Society.
