Lee was a member of Trinity Christian Church of Kermit and served as an elder. He was also a member of VFW Post #6284. He served his country in the United States Army as a corporal during the Korean Conflict. He married Helen Irene Scarbrough on August 10, 1952 in Farmer City, IL.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Helen McKay of Kermit; his son: Michael Lee McKay and wife Janis of Coppell, TX; one daughter: Pamela Sue Day and husband John of Kermit; two brothers: Boyd McKay of Martin, TN and Howard McKay of Kermit; two sisters: Ruby Mae Woods of Quitaque, TX and Alline Hicks of Kermit; three grandchildren: Jennifer Eicher and husband Rick of Gardendale, TX, Larenda Gallardo and husband Omar of Austin, TX, and Heather Webster and husband John of Odessa; and three great-grandsons: Zachary Eicher of Gardendale, TX, and Johnny Webster and Robert Webster of Odessa.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents: Delbert and Lillie McKay and two brothers: Jimmie McKay and William McKay.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Trinity Christian Church of Kermit with Rev. Gene Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members. The family requests that memorials be made to Trinity Christian Church of Kermit. Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
