Funeral services for Edward G. Bender 72 of 2924 Elm St., Omaha, NE 68105, were held Saturday, November 10, at St Adalbert's Catholic Church in Omaha. Mr. Bender passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 1979 in an Omaha hospital where he had been a patient for three and one-half weeks. Death was due to heart trouble and diabetes. Visitation was at Dworak Mortuary on Friday with the rosary prayed at 8pm
Father McKamy officiated at the mass of Christian Burial at 930am.and at the graveside at St. John's Cemetery Omaha. Pall-bearers were Don and Dennis Bender, Kenny Becker, Frank
Talacko. Kenny and Ron Henggeler. George Edward Bender, son of Charles Peter Bender and Francis Hittner Bender, was born April 23, 1907 in the St. Bernard community, rural Lindsay, NE. He received his education in the Humphrey, Elgin and Cornlea schools. He followed the occupation of barbearing all his life and worked in Homer, Elkhorn and Omaha, NE. He was a veteran of World War II. OM May 3, 1949, he was married to Cecelia Matyja at Immaculate Conception Church in Omaha. His wife survives. Also surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Steven (Marianne) Roarty, Mrs. Frank (Delores) Costanzo, both of Omaha: son-in-law, James Bryson, Daughter-in-law, Marilee Bryson; four grand-children, Jeff and Amy Bryson, Scott and Matt Roarty, five sisters, Elsie Bender, Mrs Lawrence (Irene) Johnson, Omaha, Mrs. Wilford (Helen) Henggeler of Lincoln, NE. Mrs. Jack (Elvera) Pierce of Tacoma, WA., Mrs. Gordon (Romana) Detty of Colorado Springs, CO. two brothers, Clarence of Omaha, and Peter of Tacoma, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kay Bryson; three sisters, Rose, Lucina, and Dolores; two brothers, Teddy and Joe. Friends and relatives were in attendance at the services from Tacoma, WA., Atlantic, IA., and in Nebraska from Humphrey, Platte Center, Columbus, Lincoln and Schuyler
