William L. Siegel, 75, of Pine Grove, passed away peacefully Wednesday surrounded by his loving wife and children at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Hazleton, Oct. 18, 1934, he was a son of the late William H. and Nora E. Heintzleman Siegel. William was the owner-operator of Siegel Lumber Co., Pine Grove, retiring in 2000. He loved hunting, fishing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Wright. Surviving are his wife of 56 years on July 17, Cora E. Fritzinger Siegel; a son, William E. Siegel; three daughters, Elizabeth J. "Betsy" Lehman, Brenda E. Rhen and Barbara J. Bain, all of Pine Grove; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, John Siegel, Pine Grove; a sister, Clarabel Wilson, Drums.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made in his memory to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, PA 17963.
