Hunt, age 83 of Council
Bluffs, Iowa, passed away
Thursday, February 2, 2006
at the Mercy Hospital in
Council Bluffs.
Leslie was born June 22,
1922 in Pisgah, Iowa to
Charles and Grace (Weber)
Hunt Smith. Leslie "Bud"
attended school in Pisgah and
spent time working for the
civilian Conservation Corp
before joining the Navy during
WWII. He fought in the Pacific.
In 1947, he married Ellen
Unmack of Magnolia. They
had 2 children, Randall
Leslie Hunt and Cheryl
Jernagan. Leslie lived most of
his life in Council Bluffs, the
most recent years living at
the Northcrest Care Center.
Leslie was preceded in
death by his parents; second
wife, Frances; daughter,
Cheryl Jernigan; sister, Fern
Kinney; brother, Donald; and
maternal grandparents, John
and Laura Weber.
Survivors include his
sisters, Darlene Coleman of
Yucaipa, CA, Ann Dallas of
Amarillo, TX, Glenna Reynolds
of Omaha, NE, Zenna
Hall of Vienna, WV; many
cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family
will be held from 6:00 until
8:00 p.m. Sunday at
Hennessey~Aman Funeral
Home in Missouri Valley,
Iowa. Graveside Service will
be Monday, February 6, 2006,
2:00 p.m. at Soldier Valley
Cemetery in Pisgah.
