David Leroy Vallance, 82, of Anderson, died July 31, 2016, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
David was born July 13, 1934, Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of James and Mable Vallance.
He was a machinist for General Motors 30 years before retiring in 1996.
He served in the United States Navy.
He was a member of Cornerstone Community Church
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Cooper) Vallance of Anderson, whom he married June 28, 2003, in Portsmouth, Ohio; 10 children, Steven (Kim) Vallance, Denise (Randy) Jones, Scott Vallance, Jason (Staci) Vallance, Darren Vallance, Kimberly (David) Lawless, Tammi (Jerry) Dodds, Mindy (Jeff) Kaskey, Angie (Jeff) Ratcliff, and Kelly (Brian) Ratcliff; two brothers, John (Elizabeth) Vallance and Jim Vallance; 19 grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Tyler, David, Josh, Jonah, Cooper, Kenna, Tom, Chad, Brittany, Chase, Chelsey, Elisha, Cody, Taylor, Mindy, Kurt and Liz; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet (Cooper) Vallance in 2002; and three brothers, Robert, Donald, and George Thomas Vallance.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Clyde Denny and Randy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
