Rev. Leslie “Leon” Mosley Sr. 76, went home to be with the Lord, August 1, 2016. He was born November 6, 1939 in Surry County to the late Leslie Robert and Vella Belton Moseley. Leon was called to the ministry to preach the gospel of Christ, and preached faithfully for 43 years, while pastoring two churches during that time. His testimony exemplified his love for God and family. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Willie Frances Vernon; parents; one sister, Iris Moseley Harvey; one great-granddaughter, Haley Grace; one brother-in-law, Clayton Wells. Surviving is his beloved wife of 33 years, Betty Westmoreland Mosley; one son, L. Leon Mosley Jr. (Cheryl); two daughters, Annette Heath (Jeff), Janella Meadows (G.W.); one step daughter, Cindy Bauguess (Ronnie); six grandchildren, Jennifer, Lindsay, Angel, Zack, Amy, Charlie; two great-grandchildren, Katelyn, and Bailey; one sister, Agnes Wells; brother-in-law, James Harvey. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Freedom Baptist Church in Rural Hall with Pastor Jon White and Pastor Andrew Wolfenbarger officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, N.C. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
