Alfred W Palmer, whose wife died a few days ago in Manhattan, has returned to his home here, where he will remain for a while at the home of his brother, as he has no one left at his own home. Mrs Palmer was a sister of the late Josephine Pollard, the writer, and of Capt Alonzo Pollard of the Seventh Regiment. She was several years the senior of her husband, and they were a devoted couple. Mrs Palmer was a bright, vivacious woman of many kindly traits, and was somewhat endowed with the poetic spirit, though she never sought fame by publication.
