Warren Hughes Gardner, 81, of Lancaster, passed away June 16, 2005, at his residence. He was born May 2, 1924, in Lancaster and was the son of the late Clarence and Evelyn (Hughes) Gardner. He was a district manager for Massey-Ferguson in Columbus and retired in 1987 after 28 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was in the 101st Air Borne and was in Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church on Crumley Road, Mingo Lodge 171 F & AM, Logan, and Olivedale Senior Citizens.
He is survived by a son, Steven (Linda) Gardner of Lancaster; three daughters, Linda Gardner of Woodland Park, Colo., Margaret "Peg" Gardner of Lancaster and Cindy (Keith) Burge of Highland Park, Colo.; grandchildren, Mike (Jennifer) Gardner, Brandon, Chris and Eric Burge and Nick Gardner; great granddaughter, Greer Evelyn Gardner; brother, Donald Gardner of Lancaster; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Elsie, Pauline and Margie Gardner; and two brothers, Kermit and Kenneth Gardner.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Stacy Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Green Mound Cemetery where military services will be conducted by AMVETS Post 2256, Circleville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Warren's memory.
