Charlotte Jean Welch, 73 years, 3 months, 27 days old, passed away on July 30, 2016 at Cox's South Medical Center, Springfield, MO.
Charlotte was born April 3, 1943 in the state of Washington to Sherwood and Ailene (Sizemore) Graves.
Charlotte had been currently working as the Education Coordinator for the Ozark Action Head Start Program. She had been employed with them for 49 years. She had recently received a Proclamation from the Missouri State Senate honoring her for her years of service. Charlotte got her start in early childhood education in Ozark County, MO.
On October 3, 1970 Charlotte and Freddie “Fred” Lee Welch were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union one daughter, Marisia was born.
Charlotte was a Christian and raised in the Baptist faith.
Charlotte’s passion was her work, traveling with Fred, and being with her family, grandkids and great grandson!
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her step mother, Mary Graves, and a sister, Patricia Clayton.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Fred of the home, one daughter, Marisia Stevens, Fair Grove, MO, three grandchildren; Wendell, Dusty, and Breanna Stevens, one great grandson, Colter Huett and one great grandson on-the-way, three step siblings; Kenny Newton, Ron Newton and Cathy Moon and their families and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Charlotte will be Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with Pastor Robert Roberts officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Thornfield Cemetery, Thornfield, MO.
