Dorothy was born on Feb. 24,1929, one of eleven children of James and Rosa (Collins) Bennett in Gray Hawk, KY. She married Ray Abshire on Nov. 13,1954.
Survived by a daughter: Wanda (Jim) King of Dayton, OH; son: Marvin (Valerie) Abshire of Liston, IN and Jeff (Marina) Abshire of KY; 3 grandsons; 5 great-granddaughters; her brother: Wallace Aaron Bennett; her former caregiver and dear friend: Vicky Fry.
Preceded by her parents; husband: Ray and infant son: Thomas; sisters: Alpha McGeorge, Geradine Huss, Georgia Hurley; brothers: Edgar, Hershel, Ralph, Wayne, Ivan and Amos Bennett.
Funeral: Wilson-Shook Funeral Home, Thomas Funeral Chapel, Lynn, IN Sat. Aug. 9,2014 at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Fountain Park Cemetery.
