Ray Tomlin
OTTUMWA – Ray W. Tomlin, 88, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Ottumwa, died Sept. 15, 2003, at Surrey Place Care Center, Bradenton, Fla.
He was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Davis County to Bill and Lucy Tomlin. He married Fay McCurdy, his wife of 63 years. She preceded him in death.
He is preceded in death by his wife; son, Donald; and a grandson.
Survivors include daughters, Patricia J. Wilder of Bradenton, Fla., and Judith K. Lake of Chillicothe, Ill.; son Cordell R. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was a farmer in Davis Co. and a construction foreman for Grooms Brothers in Ottumwa. He attended Bethany Baptist Church, Ottumwa.
Cremation was accorded.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 4, 2003, at the Bethany Baptist Church in Ottumwa. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery, Ottumwa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bethany Baptist Church.
Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Brandenton, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
