Virgil Wayne Brockman, 72, of Belvidere, Illinois died suddenly Sunday morning, December 10, 2006 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.

Virgil was born January 17, 1934 in Belvidere, Illinois, the son of Arthur and Meta (Beuthin) Brockman. He married Dorothy Jean Carter on May 10, 1953 in Belvidere, Illinois.

Over the years, he worked for the Chrysler Corp retiring in January 1999 after thirty-three years of service. Virgil was a member of the U.A.W., Belvidere Moose and First United Methodist Church. As a wild-life enthusiast, Virgil enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada each year with his friends, hunting and will always be remembered for his famous "bird calls".

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; son, Tim (Pranom) Brockman of Thailand; daughters, Kelly (Brian) Bellerose of Arizona, Penny (Troy) Tipton of Lincoln, Illinois; grandchildren, Meno (Aaron) Brockman Zweifel, Timothy (Amanda) Brockman, Ryne Tillou, Stephane Tillou; great-granddaughter, Imaging Brockman; brother, Earl (Darlene) Brockman of Belvidere; many nieces and nephews.

Virgil is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Merlin, Elmer, Ralph, Gilmer, Oliver; sister, Brydell.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2006 in First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Avenue, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Joy Starwalt, pastor officiating. Visitation will from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Interment will be private.

Memorials in Virgil's name can be given in care of the Parkinson Foundation.
