Jacquelyn Jean Shellenberg, 79, passed away peacefully while on vacatioin in Vail, CO on July 30, 2016.
Jackie was born December 3, 1936 in Yale, IA the daughter of Fritz and Isobel Deardorff Tasler. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse until her retirement. On August 29, 1959. Jackie and Patrick Shellenberg were united in marriage at St. Cecelia Church, Panora, IA, enjoying more than 54 years together. They were founding members of Christ the King Catholic Church. Patrick passed away April 17, 2014.
Grateful to have shared Jackie's life are her children, Joni Merrillat (Dan) and John Shellenberg, all of Topeka; her sister Christie Cianci (Mike), San Jose, CA; and, Jerry Tasler, Fort Myers, FL.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday August 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., at Christ the King church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
