Jon Dunkin Patterson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 23, 2016, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Gateway Church, North Fort Worth Campus, 4209 Basswood Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas, 76137. Inurnment: 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, after a ceremony, his cremains will be placed in the Columbarium Wall at Fairmount Cemetery, 1120 W. Ave. N, San Angelo, Texas 76901. Jon was born in San Angelo on March 26, 1943, graduated from Central High School and was in the first graduating class of Angelo State University. He was a banker by profession and enjoyed a respected reputation working in various banks, statewide. He moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2001 to be near his family. He started working as CFO for Heritage Bank in Terrell, Texas. Through the next few years, as Heritage Bank became NexBank Capital, Texas, he worked as CFO and mentored many young bankers. Following his retirement, he served faithfully on its Board of Directors until his death. His career was devoted to banking but his life was devoted to family. He was a loving brother, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his older sister, Judy Patterson; and parents, Julia and L.T. "Pat" Patterson. Survivors: He leaves behind a younger sister, Peggy Patterson of Grapevine; two daughters, Ty Patterson of Arlington and Marylou Patterson of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Jon Patrick Martin and Georgie Martin of Fort Worth; along with nieces and a nephew.
