Catherine Sans, Ava, Dies at 85
Mrs. Catherine Sans, 85, died at her home in Ava Friday night after an illness of several years.
She was born near Ava in 1866, and had been a resident of Jackson County all of her life.
She was married in 1882, to William Sans, who preceded her in death in 1930.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Della Varnum of Ava, two sons, Jack of Pinckneyville and Albert of Collinsville, eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, one brother, J.T. Ward of Dexter, Missouri, and one half-sister, Mrs. Nellie Morber of Ava.
Two daughters preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ava.
Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home in Ava pending funeral arrangements.

Rites for Catherine Sans Held Today in Ava
Funeral services were to be held today at 2 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home in Ava for Mrs. Catherine Sans, 85, who died at her Ava home Friday night after an illness of several years.
Rev. Marion Barringer was to officiate at the services. Burial was to be in Ava Evergreen Cemetery.
