Mom worked at Safeway for 30 years before she retired. She worked at US Bank in Selah part time until our father passed away.
She is survived by her five children, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, parents, Charles and Pauline Hert, her sisters, Mary, Nancy, Frances, Hazel, and Mildred.
Her children were her pride and joy. Mom was always there for each and every one of them. Mom was raising her great granddaughter for 12 ½ years. She never gave up on her!
Growing up mom and dad made sure we had the best family vacations and spent their life raising us children. They were not only our parents but our best friends in life. They taught us everything we know.
Mom enjoyed learning to play the piano and started this journey late in life. Mom was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She tried her hardest to make it to all their sporting events.
Mom had a heart of gold. She put everyone else’s needs in front of her own. She was the most giving, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
“This is not goodbye, it is see you later.” You will not be forgotten.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Together Church, 509 N. 4th St., Yakima, WA. A private burial will be at a later date. We will be having a reception at the Yakima Arboretum and all are invited
