Casper sailed from Rotterdam to Philadelphia in 1771 on the ship Tyger. After indentured service of 2 years, 10 months to William Pennel of Middletown, Chester, Pennsylvania, he moved to Lancaster where he raised 2 sons, Jacob and John, with his wife Mary.

The First Reformed Church of Lancaster sold part of its cemetery lands to build a courthouse. There was no record of removal for Casper or his wife, Mary, and are likely still buried under the courthouse.
