Kent was born Sept. 1, 1936, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Clayton Baker and wife Charlotte, nee Hammond. Kent was an entertainer, and at the age of 5 picked up his first whip and rope. At age 12, he joined his parents in the "family business." He met his future wife, Donna, at a bowling alley, and it was love at first strike. Kent was a performer, master of ceremonies, but most importantly a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and brother in Christ to many who will mourn his passing. Kent was united in marriage to Donna Banister March 16, 1963.
Kent is survived by his loving wife, Donna; two daughters, Macharr Heisel and husband Steven, and Bridgett Poertner and husband Tim; seven grandchildren, Ethan, Maelana, Albany, Emily, Konner, Riley and Abigail; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Charlotte.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. at First Christian Church, Washington. A funeral service will be held following the visitation. Kent will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Villa Ridge.
