Mrs. Lena Morgan James, 94, of Beech Island, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital.
Mrs. James lived most of her life in Augusta, Ga., moving to Beech Island several months ago. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She worked with the Foster Grandparents Association for several years after the death of her husband, Wyatt. She loved visiting with her great-great-grandchildren, who brought her much joy. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Mrs. James donated her body to the Medical College of Georgia to help with research and to aid with the training of medical students.
A memorial service will be held at a later time.
Mrs. James was preceded in death by her husband, Wyatt H. James; her son, Louis James and her great-grandson, Alvin Meyer, Jr. and she is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Mary Edna Hill and her son-in-law, Leon Hill; her grandchildren, Bernice Meyer, Patricia (Jerry) McCrae, Brenda (Marshall) Brown, Jodie James Smith, Vivian Singletary, Wyatt and Christopher James and Kevin and Daniel McCarthy. She had 16 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren and special companions Maggie and Rufus.
