Charlie was born October 25, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is the son of Haywood Cash and Laura Alice Whipple. He graduated from South High. He married Lynn Ardith Trip and they had three children.
Later divorced, he married Lenett Ashby Winslow on February 8, 1964. Together, they added three more children and he became a loving stepfather to Lenett's 2 children and an outstanding foster-father to several foster children.
Dad was a proud Marine and served in Korea. He was a career US postal service worker serving in Salt Lake and later as Postmaster for many years in Elko Nevada. In later years, he was an LDS church custodian and served in the SLC temple.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William, and his wife Lenett. Survived by his children Janet (Steve) Ortgiesen, Michael (Marcia) Winslow, Faith Fox, Peter (Loie) Cash, John (Pauliana) Cash, James (Lisa) Cash, Charity (Eric) Brown, Charles Haywood Cash, 30 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, foster children Crystal & Marguerita Golden, and his sister, Beneth Burkeholder.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Magna Stake Center 3084 S. 8400 W. Viewings are Monday from 6 - 8 PM at Peel Mortuary, 8525 W. 2700 S. and at the church Tuesday from 10-10:45 am.
