Jesse Thomas Curlee, Jr., 93, of Ashland, AL passed away after a brief illness Sunday, March 22, 2015 in Birmingham, AL.
He was a resident of Fullerton, CA between 1954 and 2001. He was a veteran of WWII having served tours of duty in San Diego, Port Hueneme and the Philippines. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a quality control inspector at Douglas Aircraft, North American Aviation and Rockwell, working on the Apollo, Space Shuttle and GPS satellites.
Jesse is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; four grandchildren; three sisters, including Sarah Sparks (deceased 2015); three brothers, including James Curlee (deceased 2016); and his beloved companion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Laney Curlee, in 1998.
A funeral is scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2015, in the chapel at Clay County Funeral Home, with visitation the night prior between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
