Vivian Eileen Boyack, 93, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Crest Healthcare, Davenport. Services in Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm at First Christian Church, 510 E. 15th Street in Davenport on Friday July 29, 2016. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to time of service at the church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Davenport, Davenport Community School Foundation or Konig Charitable Fund, Crest Healthcare, Davenport.

Vivian was born in 1923 in Creston, Iowa to William C. and Gleah (Ross) Boyack. She graduated from Creston High School in 1940, Iowa State Teacher’s College (UNI) and Augustana College with a BA in elementary education. Vivian taught primary grades for 40 years in Yale, Iowa, Glenwood, Iowa, and the last 35 years of her career, in the Davenport Schools, at Lincoln and Grant schools.

Vivian was a member of First Christian Church, Davenport for 68 years, singing in the chancel choir and as soloist for 56 of those years. She enjoyed music, reading, gardening, housekeeping, and letter writing to church member, birthdays and anniversaries of family and friends. She was a member of NEA, ISEA, Davenport Plus 60, AARP, and various other environmental organizations.

Vivian especially enjoyed traveling with her spouse, Vernona (Nonie) Dubes. They traveled by car in the 48 contiguous states and visited Hawaii, the British Isles, and all the provinces of Canada.

Surviving in addition to her spouse, Vernona, (Nonie) are Robert & Jean (Dubes) Cornish and their children, LuAnn (Bruce) Tamisiea and their children: Tyler (Michaela), Reid (Sara) and Brooke (Chad) Tredway; Lori (Tim) Raup and their children, CJ Cave, Kelsey (Dave) Parker; and great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are cousins, Betty (Bob) Myers, Jean (the late Allan) McCone of Kansas City, and their children and grandchildren, plus Jerry & Marty Yeast and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a cousin Millie (Howard) Bouton of Flint, Michigan and very close friends.
