Linda L. “Lin” Blocker, 64, of La Porte City, died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of pancreatic cancer.

She was born April 2, 1952 in Bellevue, Iowa, daughter of Clarence “Bill” and Millie (Weinschenk) Kirk. She was a graduate of Adel High School and attended Hawkeye Community College.

She married Allen Blocker on May 20, 1988 in Black Hawk County.

Lin worked for the U.S. Postal service for 25 years, retiring in 2012.

She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in La Porte City.

Survived by: her husband, Allen Blocker of La Porte City; one son, Chad (Stephanie Adams) Hansen of La Porte City; one step daughter, Tammy (Derek) Vopelak of Dysart; five grandchildren, Allie and Eden Hansen, D.J. Adams, Clayton and Coleton Vopelak; two brothers, Bill (Lillian) Kirk of Linden, IA, Joe Kirk of Maryville, MO; five sisters, Jackie Jenkins, Patty (Charlie) Merical, Judy Johnson all of Adel, Gail (Tom) Rodgers of Ogden and Kathy (Gordon) Jewett of Blair, NE.

Preceded in death by: her father, Bill Kirk; her mother and stepfather, Millie and Obrien Christian; one daughter, Tiffany Hansen and a brother-in-law, Bill Mac Jenkins.

Services 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at the American Lutheran Church, La Porte City
