Glenda was born May 28, 1929 in Souder, MO to Charles and Frankie (Rowlett) Walker.
Glenda was a retired School Teacher and Farmer. On July 10, 1954, Glenda and Roy E. Lee were united in marriage at Ava, MO and to this union three children were born.
She graduated from Drury University with honors. Glenda had worked five years in the accounting and engineering depts. for AT&T in Kansas City before moving to Drury.
She had taught school 31 years, where she had taught every grade from preschool thru high school. Glenda taught seven years in the rural schools of Ozark and Douglas Counties before moving to Kansas City. She then taught head start 11 years at Dora, and later retired from Ava Schools where she taught Learning Disabilities in the high school.
Glenda was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ since 1946. She attended church at Souder and Smith Chapel.
Glenda’s hobbies were: playing softball in her younger years, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, gardening, baking pies, and farming. Her joy was being with her family and most of all her grand and great grandchildren!
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy in 2005, her grandson, Jonathon Patrick Roy Lee, five half sisters, three half brothers, two brothers, Paul and Earl, and one sister, Ruby Yates.
Glenda is survived by her three children; Debbie Stone and husband, Mike, Ava, MO, Dianne Evans and Gregory Roy Lee both of Drury, MO, four grandsons; Chris Owens, Casey Owens, Levi Evans and Paden Lee, six great grandchildren; Wade Owens, Ellie Owens, Whitney Evans, Hunter Evans, Brook, and Addie Hicks, one sister, Ruth Lindsey, one brother, Don Walker, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Glenda will be Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Home Cemetery, Drury, MO. Officiating will be E.J. Hampton.
