Earl D. Barnett Jr. of Glenview Funeral services and interment for Earl D. Barnett Jr., 85, were held privately.

Born Nov. 19, 1917, in Memphis, Tenn., he died August 14, 2003, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Mr. Barnett was a fine artist, illustrator, designer and portrait painter who enjoyed a 45-years career in merchandising design.

His fine art has been exhibited widely, and his artwork is in several permanent collections. He was listed in the Directory of International Biography, Who's Who in American Art, and Who's Who in the Midwest.

Mr. Barnett was the loving father of James T. Barnett of Streamwood, Jeanie M. Barnett of Watertown, Mass., David C. (Patsy) Barnett of Arlington Heights and John R. (Dawn) Barnett of Mundelein; cherished grandfather of Chris, Daniel, Dylan and Darby; and dear brother of the late William and Thomas Barnett.

Arrangements were made by the Ridgewood Funeral Chapel, Des Plaines.
