Jennifer was murdered by a 21 year-old neighbor man, who lived next door to her at the Springhill Apartments on Indianapolis' westside.
Her body was found on February 27, 1996 by firefighters who were responding to a fire in the apartment.
Twenty-two year Jennifer had been stabbed 10 times, chocked and then her body set on fire.
She was the daughter of the late Steven W. Lawrence. Her mother Jean (Murray) Scalf, and brother Richard Lawrence survive.
(What a horrific death, but I feel that stories like this one need to be brought to the attention of the public, in hopes that other young girls will be more alert and careful who they befriend.
