She attented public school at Hutto Middle School in Bainbridge, GA where she met the love of College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She taught school in Decatur and Coffee counties for a total of thirty-nine years. In December of 1952, she married the late William L. Jackson. This union was blessed with two children: Larry Devonn and Margie Deneise.
She departed this life on June 25, 2016. Six siblings preceded her in death. Those who will forever cherish her memories are her son, Larry (Eloise) Jackson; a daughter, Margie Philyaw; three grandchildren: Monique, Courtney and Carissa Jackson; a sister, Essie Buckner; two sisters-in-law: Marvene Jackson and Ather Osborne (Bainbridge, GA); a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and sorrowing friends to include special members from B.S.I.T. Club: Rosa Boyd, Bonnie Grimes and Loretta P. Veal.
