CHILDRESS - Opal Christine Reed Mooney, 86, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Childress Church of Christ with Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mooney was born in rural Lamar County near Paris on June 11, 1920. She married James Henry Mooney on June 26, 1955, in Raton, N.M.

Mrs. Mooney loved the Lord and was a dedicated Christian and a member of Childress Church of Christ. She was retired from F.W. Woolworth Company, where she worked for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 16, 1984; her parents, Arthur H. and Eddie Burns Reed; four sisters, Helen Reed, Eula Wilson, Audrey Clifton, Earlie Anderson; and three brotheers, Floyd Reed, Paul Reed and Lee Reed.

Survivors include 17 beloved nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation for kindness and care, especially to the Turners Nursing Home staff.

They suggest memorials be to Tipton Children's Home, P.O. Box 370, Tipton, OK 73570.
