Amy Dawn (McCarn) Short of Arlington, Texas passed away on July 26, 2016, along with her husband, James Allen Short, 47...
Amy was born on January 8th, 1969 and raised in Holdenville, Oklahoma and graduated from Holdenville High School - Class of 1987. Shortly after high school she married her high school sweetheart, Jim Short also of Holdenville. Amy and Jim moved to Arlington, Texas in 1989. They began their family and after deciding to dedicate her life to the love and service of others, she returned to college to obtain her nursing degree.

During her time as an RN, Amy was able to help and touch many lives who always referred to her as a "burst of sunshine". Amy was always present and active as a young mother to her children and showed her dedication to her family through her constant love and unending support.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 1:30pm to 4:30pm, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the home of her sister, Angie McCarn Faver.

A service in Amy's hometown of Holdenville, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 4th, 2016. Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, 301 East Main Street, Holdenville, OK 74848.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Goodson McCarn. Amy is survived by her three children; sons Zakkrey James Short and Lucas Allen Short, and daughter Kaylin Belle Short all of Arlington, Texas. Amy is also survived by her father, Don McCarn of Eufaula, sister Angie McCarn Faver and husband Lloyd of Fort Worth, Texas, brother Billy McCarn and wife Megan of Oklahoma City, aunts and uncles Jo Giancotti and husband Al of Allen, Jack and Sheryl Goodson of Atwood, Bobbie and Jim Hart of Oklahoma City, and Debbie and Bill Mercer of Oklahoma City. Amy is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
