Paul R. Bashore, 85, of 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 in the Mennonite Home. He was born September 14, 1921 in South Lebanon Twp., Lebanon Co., a son of the late David B. and Minerva Iceman Bashore. He was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Middletown. He was a self-employed contractor, an avid hunter and fisherman and a charter member of the Steelton-Swatara Lodge #715 FandAM. Surviving are son, Donald E., spouse of Shirley Bashore, of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Karen Grubb and Paul R. Bashore, III, both of Bellefonte, and Michael Bashore of Pittsburgh; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Grubb and Christopher Grubb, both of Bellefonte, Danielle Bashore of Altoona and Zoe Elizabeth Bashore of Pittsburgh; and brothers, David, Henry, George, Bob; and sister, Edith. He was preceded in death by wife, Lillian Elizabeth Meinsler Bashore on June 7, 2006 and sons, Dennis Lee Bashore on June 16, 1987 and Paul R. Bashore, Jr. on February 15, 1999. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 4,, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Mennonite Home, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster. Private interment in Iona United Methodist Cemetery, Lebanon. Memorials can be sent to Mennonite Home 1520 Harrisburg Pike Lancaster, PA 17601.
