Vincent Anthony "Tony" Beckham, Jr. was born to Vincent Anthony, Sr and the late Charlsie Jo Lawler Beckham on December 25, 1948 in Helena, AR. Moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Tony resided in Pascagoula and called this city home. He passed away on April 26, 2016 in Mobile County, AL.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Charlsie Jo Beckham and infant sister, Mary Elisa Beckham. Tony is survived by his father Vincent Anthony Beckham, Sr of Pascagoula; his son, Petty Officer Vincent A. "Vince" Beckham III, USCG and wife Jody of Maine; his daughter Lisa JoAnn Beckham Montfort and husband Petty Officer Justin Montfort, USN of New Orleans, LA; his grandson Jackie Lee Beckham of Pascagoula; his former wife Betty Waltman; his step-daughters and their spouses: Crystal Dawn and Gordon Stephens, and Kimberly Jean and Keith Gable in Jackson County, MS; step-grandchildren Beau Freeman, Quinn and Chelsea Rogers, and Nathaniel Gable of Jackson County, Ms; and one great step-granddaughter, Alanna Grace Freeman. Tony is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Tony attended Our Lady of Victories Catholic High School, class of 1966. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he honorably served his country. After the Army, he continued his education at MGCCC, the Policy Academy in Jackson, MS, and the Law Enforcement Academy in Georgia. He was also a certified Fire Fighter and held Certification in C.P.R. as a caregiver and instructor. Tony obtained his Maritime Pilots License and as Captain of his vessel, served ports in the Eastern United States, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Africa. His local career began as the City of Moss Point, MS's first motorcycle police officer. Later employment included the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, moving on to become a District Manager with the MS State Bureau of Marine Resources.

Currently, Tony was employed as a Tug Boat Captain, again serving multiple ports in the Gulf of Mexico Vincent Anthony Beckham, Jr was a kind and gentle spirit. He was a man that had a huge heart for family and friends. His compassion for others and love of life was adored by many and will be missed by many more.

Fair winds and following seas, Captain. Visitation will be May 5th, 2016 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, Highway 63, Escatawpa, MS. Services will be immediately after with Father Tony Arguelles officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park, Ingalls Avenue East, Pascagoula, MS.
