Deceased Name: Jordan, Nina Willene Wiggins

Willene Wiggins Jordan left her earthly body and was welcomed into the Lord's loving arms on August 27, 2004 at her eldest daughter's home, surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice Savannah. She was the last remaining survivor of 14 siblings and was born on February 14, 1919 in Washington County, Georgia. She was a Home Economics major graduating from Berry College in 1942. After World War II was over, she accepted a position as a social worker in Savannah at the American Red Cross.

She married Thomas E. Jordan Sept 20, 1946 and had four children. Virginia J. Sands (Mickey), William Thomas Jordan (Sandi), Miriam J. Lariscy all of Savannah, Georgia and Rebecca J. Starling (Michael) of Tucson, Arizona. Mother taught in the Chatham County Schools for 12 years both as a substitute teacher and as an elementary school teacher at Eli Whitney. In 1979, she moved back to the Sandersville area and remained there until her husband passed away in 1981. Then she returned to Savannah and remained there until her death. Mother had a strong Christian faith and loved the Lord. She enjoyed discussing religious matters and debating theology with everyone.
In addition to her children, she is survived by seven grandchildren, Scott Stark (Jennifer), William Thomas Jordan, Chris Cribbs (Beth), Aaron Jordan (Crystal), Jennifer Edwards, Kimberly Miltiades, Charidy Perry (Ernie). Her life was greatly blessed with eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are, Scott Stark, William Thomas Jordan, Chris Cribbs, Aaron Jordan, Denny Smith and Larry Lariscy. Honorary pallbearers include all of her nephews, and Frank Stark, Mickey Sands, Michael Starling and Mark Thomas.

Burial: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park

Remembrances: The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be directed to Hospice Savannah, Inc., PO Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or Berry College, PO Box 490069, Mt. Berry, GA 30149 or a charity of one's choice.
