Returned To America
The remains of the late Chief Printer William L. Witter returned November 30 from the Pacific area aboard the US Army Transport Dalton Victory, will be forwarded at a later date through the American Graves Registration Distribution Center in Kansas City, Mo., to Diagonal, Iowa, the final destination requested by next-of-kin.
Armed forces dead interred in temporary military cemeteries on Saipan, in Japan and the Philippine Islands are among those brought back on the Dalton Victory.
Next of Kin, Stella B. Witter, of Clearfield, has been notified in advance of the return of the remains to the United States and will receive further notice concerning forwarding to the final destination.
From the Distribution Center to the final destination, the remains are accompanied by individual escort.
