Chester Baird Hudson, age 85, of Defoe died Monday, May 23, 2005 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. He was born in Defoe, the son of the late Everett and Ramey Carter Hudson. He retired after twenty-seven years as a Tax Examiner at the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church for sixty-six years where he served as a Deacon and was the past Chairman of the Deacons. He also taught a Sunday School Class and was the most senior member of the Pleasureville Lodge #410.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Sue Hudson, Pleasureville, one daughter: Lannette (John) Vandertoll, Louisville; one son: Tony (Elita) Roberts, Louisville; one brother: Harry (Betty Ann) Hudson, Louisville; three sisters: Doris Barnett, Shelbyville, Alice Mahuron, Defoe and Ann (David) Wild, Charlestown, South Carolina; five grandchildren: Jack Vandertoll, Hunt Vandertoll, Kaelin Roberts, Ashlyn Roberts and Henry Peter Vandertoll.
Funeral services will be held at the Pleasureville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on May 25. Rev. Carl Rucker, Port Royal Baptist Church, Rev. Charles Austin, Bethlehem Methodist Church, Rev. Michael Duncan, Eminence Baptist Church, Rev. Vic Johnson, Union Baptist Church and Rev. Keith Key from Lexington will officiate. Burial will be in the Lebanon Church Cemetery. Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville, is in charge of Arrangements.
