Gloria Marie Pettway Ward, Age 71, passed away peacefully at Norton Hosparus with her daughter, Teresyn "Terri", by her side. Gloria was born in Prichard, AL, October 8, 1944, a daughter, to the late A.C. and Viola Jesse Pettway.

She was a teacher at Los Angeles Unified School District where she retired after 35 years of teaching. Gloria was a faithful member of the Bethany Baptist Church.

Gloria, a loving mother, will be greatly missed by her 2 daughters, Teresyn Mains (Scott) Breland; April Ward; 3 grandchildren, David Allan Mains, Jr.; James Allan Mains; Joshua Allan Mains; 4 great-grandchildren, Cia Ann; Caydra Alexis; Bentley James; Easton Hunter; 2 brothers, A.C. (Anna Pearl) Pettway; Alex (Nancy) Pettway; and 5 sisters, Shirley Ann (Clay) Hodge; Flo (David) Ivy; Elizabeth Anderson; Vivian Ransom; and Violet Newton.

Visitation will be held Saturday, 10-11 a.m., July 30th with funeral services following at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Cave Hill Cemetery.
