David Michael Morrison
Dave was born on June 29, 1948 in Yuba City, CA. He passed away peacefully in his home in Yuba City with Linda at his side.
Dave grew up in South Yuba City with his parents Hugh and Ruth, and brother Hugh. Dave helped on the family farm along with the family owned trucking business.
Linda and Dave shared a wonderful life together for 20 years. Some of the most enjoyable times Dave and Linda had were spent on the California Coast visiting local wineries, and walks on the beach in Mendocino, Little River, and San Francisco areas. Dave was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in which he served during the Vietnam era. Dave's first college experience was at Chico State. He could be seen riding his favorite horse on campus in his spare time. Dave furthered his education at University of Davis and then Sacramento State, achieving Masters Degrees in Math and Science. Dave used this education in his 20 years teaching Math and Statistics at Butte and Yuba College. Dave thoroughly enjoyed his teaching career. He had a rewarding relationship with his students. Before becoming a teacher, Dave owned Chico Bicycle. The city of Chico and all of his friends there held a special place in Dave's heart. Dave enjoyed working in a variety of wine tasting rooms, learning all the ins and outs of wine making in the Napa Valley. During his teaching career, he developed and operated an Internet business which included a variety of gourmet organic foods from all over California.
Dave is survived by his wife, Linda; her children, Tammra and Daniel; grandson, Makaio; his brother, Hugh and his wife Judy; and his nephew, Hughie.
There will be a Celebration of Life with the family and friends on Saturday, June 15
