Beatrice Rae "Dudy" (Michael) Graham, 75, formerly of Deerfield, died Monday (July 25, 2016) in Golden Living Center. Born January 31, 1941 in West Augusta, she was a daughter of Clarence Edward and Margie Fawn (Smith) Michael.
Dudy was a faithful farm wife, working along side her husband for many years on their Deerfield farm. She also worked as a cook at Buckhorn Inn for many years, and later at White Way. She had a strong Christian faith that saw her through many challenging times. She was a member of Deerfield Church of God and attended Grubert Avenue Church of God. Dudy was especially devoted to her grandchildren and loved being their MawMaw.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Graham, and a brother, Jimmy Michael.
Surviving are her daughter, Leslie Broughman and husband James "Tinker" of Covington; two brothers, Dale Michael and wife Annalee of West Augusta, and Don Michael and wife Pam of Churchville; three sisters, Nellie Hevener of Churchville, twin sister Ruby Graham of Staunton, and Nancy Blackwell and husband Homer of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Brandi Taliaferro of Roanoke and Trey Broughman of Clifton Forge; one great-granddaughter, Emilia Wiley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 29 in the Staunton Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Thomas. Burial will follow in West Augusta Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tinker Broughman, Trey Broughman, Gaylon Hevener, Tim Hevener, Homer Blackwell and Lewis Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby McManaway, Gary McCray, Bobby Smith, Wayne Graham, Rusty Carter and Bill Graham.
The family will receive friends Friday at the Staunton Seventh Day Adventist Church, one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association , 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
