Grace Beatrice Sandlin
November 5, 1930 - April 23, 2005
Grace Sandlin was born Gracie Smith to Maud Corinne Smith and Thomas Henry Pickens (T.H.P.) Smith in Albion, Oklahoma on November 5, 1930. She was their
seventh and last child.
Her brothers were William Woodrow, Harry Mann, Loren Jack and Carl Nathaniel Smith. Her sisters were Clancie Alois Bailey and Lillie Pearl Rhodes Kidd.
Gracie lived in Albion, Oklahoma until she was 11. She moved to California with her mother who went to work in the ship yards in Vallejo. She lived a short time
in Los Angeles with her sister, Clancie, during the War and then moved to Stockton. She graduated from Edison High School in 1948. She married Daniel A. Lopez in 1949. They have two children, Sheri and Vince Lopez. Grace worked for various companies at various occupations which include the Sierra Theater, Nemme’s Liquor Store, The Tip Top Sandwhich Shop, Fireside
Thrift, The Stockton Credit Bureau, Northern Industrial Credit Union and OK Flower Shed.
She is survived by her two children, Sheri L. Lopez, Vince Lopez and his wife, Karen; one grandson, Danny Lopez; many nieces and nephews which include, Wayne
and Pat Rhodes, Lisa, Debbie and Pamela Kidd, Randy and Judy Smith, Charles Smith, Corrine, Helen and Jack Smith and numerous great nieces and nephews. Her special friends include, June Shaw, Carol Humphries, Joan Warthan, Nancy Tolang, Rozann Martin and Ralph Thompson.
Grace was a loving mother and true friend. She gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ many years ago. We know that we will see her again in Glory. We thank the
Lord for her life and that we had the opportunity to know her and to love her.
