Roger Lee Hammond, 58, passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Roger was born in Ogden, Utah, to Leslie and Beverly Hammond on October 20, 1957.

During his life Roger worked at Cox Cable for several years and worked his way up to become the installation manager for the Southwest region of Arizona. Roger was the owner of Hammond United Tax Service and also a co-owner of Sierra Vista Flowers & Gifts.

Roger loved and served the Lord throughout his life and gave his love, friendship, mentorship, labor, and devotion to his church family at Village Meadows Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He had a real passion for cooking, gardening, and carpentry, and freely gave of his bounty and skills to friends and family alike. Roger was quick with a smile and a hug and spent countless hours helping friends and family.

Roger is survived by his wife of 39 years: Karon; two sons: Wesley Clayton Hammond and Dr. Christopher Lee Hammond (Courtney); four grandchildren: Emily, Samuel, Ashly, and Liam; siblings: Bonnie (Mike) Sisson, Julia (Robert) Rains, Sherle (Dan) Smothers, Stephen (Laura) Hammond, Diana (Paul) Thurber, Robin (Ron) Coffelt, and Pam (Ken) Mayberry; mother-in-law: Poppy Harber; father-in-law: Jarrell Williams; and three sisters-in-laws: Debra (Jim) Munson, Sherry (Chuck) Maples, and Andrea (George) Fisher. He will be tremendously missed by all.

Friends and family will gather at Village Meadows Baptist Church, Sierra Vista. Arizona, to celebrate a truly wonderful life on July 27, 2016, at 6:00 pm.
