DECATUR -- Cecil Carter, Jr., 86, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side.
Cecil was born July 27, 1929, in Decatur, to Cecil Monroe and Mildred (Sorrell) Carter. He was a veteran of the Navy. He married Lois Virginia Primm on November 7, 1956 in Newport, Indiana. She passed November 14, 2008. Cecil was a truck driver for Teamster for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Temple Stephen Decatur Lodge # 979 and Sangamon Valley Shriners.
Cecil is survived by his son, Cecil “Lee”; one grandson, Colton Levi; three brothers, Donald, John and Dwayne; two sisters, Cleta and Reva.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lois; one grandson, Stanlee Carter and two sisters.
