Gary Lee Hackler, of McAlester, died Saturday, July 23, 2016 at his residence at the age of 66. Gary was born to Paul Daniel “Bud” and Lena Bell (Kimbrell) Hackler on February 23, 1950 in McAlester. He was raised in Savanna and Tulsa. Gary served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He worked in construction as a carpenter for the Tulsa Carpenter’s Union. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool; and watching westerns, car racing, and sports. Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Bud and Lena Bell Hackler, and an infant sister: Ruth Ann Hackler. A funeral service will be held at 2 :00 p.m. Friday, July 29 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Jerry Burnside. Burial to follow at Blanco Cemetery.
