Lafayette Call : Martha L. Cowger died of lung trouble last Tuesday morning at her home, No. 925 Wabash avenue. She was born October 10th, 1869, near Battle Ground. After graduating in the public schools at that place she was married to F. L. Cowger July 3d, 1894. Two sons, Francis and Donala Cowger, and one little girl, Hazel Ballentine, by a former marriage, together with her husband and her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McLain, and three sisters and one brother, all residing at Battle Ground, mourn her departure into the spirit world. Funeral services were held at the Battle Ground M. E. church at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, Revs. A. J. Jackman and Harry White officiating. Mrs. Cowger was a member of the Methodist church at Battle Ground, having united while Rev. N. F. Jenkins was pastor at that place. She led a quiet Christian life. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Battle Ground and the members took part in the services.
