Clara Lee passed away peacefully and went to be with her “sweet Jesus” on July 25, 2016. Clara was born in South Bibb County on her Grandfather’s dairy farm in a little yellow cottage.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Adele Williamson, Sr. She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers; Virginia “Cowboy” Williamson, Marie W. Mundy, Martha W. Price, Lois Williamson Rhodes; Robert Williamson, Jr. and Dewitt Williamson. She was also preceded in death by her great grand-daughter Isabel Faye Lee.
Clara was married to the late Joseph O. Lee for thirty-five years. She is survived by her son Maxie (Janet) Lee of Palm Coast, Florida and David (Cookie) Lee of Macon, and sister-in-law Jeri Williamson of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by five grandchildren Rosalyn (Jason) Powell of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Allen (Lana) Lee of Saint Croix, David (Lisa) Lee, Jr, of Macon, Abby (Brandon) Locke of Griffin, Georgia, and Perry Lee of Macon. She is also survived by seven precious great grandchildren Dillon and Ryann Powell, David III, Jonathan, Hannah Lee, and Carter and Kate Locke.
Clara was a life-long resident of Macon where she was a member of Vineville Presbyterian and First Presbyterian Church. She was very active at Vineville teaching Sunday School and the women in the church. She was involved with the PTA at T.D. Tinsley for years and also was an assistant in the Special Education Department with the Deaf Children.
Clara had a love of children and never met a baby that she did not bathe. She loved life to the fullest, loved to laugh and loved a crowd of people where she always made herself the center of attention. She will be missed by all who loved her dearly.
Clara has donated her body to Mercer University School of Medicine. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Chip Miller officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Donations can be made to Academy for Classical Education, 5665 New Forsyth Road, Macon, GA 31210 or the donor’s favorite charity.
Hart’s Mortuary and Crematory has charge of arrangements.
