HAZEL MAXINE (ALLEN) SPARKS, 95, of Springfield, passed away Saturday morning, July 23, 2016. She was born in Springfield on November 16, 1920, the daughter of the late Jack M. and Alice Rebecca (Stelzig) Allen.
She was a long-time member of Faith United Methodist Church (Central United Methodist) where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women's Society and was a member of the Kiwaniannes.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Fred Sparks; a son, William M. (Frances) Hines of Springfield; seven grandchildren; 17, great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Sue Zinkhon; a grandson, Greg Hines; two sisters, Patricia Gereg and Mary Roberts; and a brother, Jack W. Allen.
