Joseph Osborne, a well-known G. A. R. man, died at the home of his son, No. 1227 West Fourth street, at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon after a long illness. He leaves a wife and several grown children. He was a staunch Republican in politics, but never held office except being a police officer under Mayor Wales. He was a contributor of numerous letters to G. A. R. papers on war subjects. His funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon.
