Matheson, Edna Louise: At Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen, NB, on January 8, 2011, after a lengthy period of failing health, Edna went to her rest. Born on January 2, 1923 on Pomeroy Ridge, NB, she was "somewhere in the middle" of the 13 children of Alonzo and Vivian (Thornton) McGlinchey. In 1951, Edna married Harvey Andrew Matheson and subsequently moved to St. Andrews and then Blacks Harbour where she lived until Harvey�s death in 1971. Edna then made her home at Scotch Ridge until her recent move to Lincourt.

Edna is survived by two daughters: Marlene (Allen) Phillips of Scotch Ridge and Myrna Matheson (Randy Paradis) of Fort McMurray, Alberta; one sister, Leona McGlinchey of Pomeroy Ridge; two brothers, Arnold McGlinchey of Pomeroy Ridge and Frank (Vera)McGlinchey of The Ledge; three sister-in-laws, Frances McGlinchey of Gorham, Maine, Barbara McGlinchey of Westbrook, Maine, Flora Weeks, Lynnfield,NB. The Ledge, and Flora Weeks, Lynnfield. Edna is also survived by special "grandson" Tyson Boulanger and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Harvey; two infant daughters Phyllis Edna and Donna Darlene; six brothers: Charles, Byron, Briar, Jude, Roland and Albert; three sisters: Agnes McGlinchey, Almeda Johnson and Viola Leeman.

Throughout her life, she was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young and then became employed at Connors Bros. Ltd. and, finally, until her retirement, at Ganong Bros. Ltd. She was a Life Member of the Scotch Ridge United Church Women and the St. James United Church. During her years in Blacks Harbour, she attended and worked faithfully for, the Calvary United Baptist Church.

Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 2 PM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 10, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scotch Ridge United Church Steeple Fund. Interment will be at the Pomeroy Ridge Cemetery. A reception to share remembrances of Edna�s life with family and friends will be held at the Scotch Ridge Hall.
