Military Funeral

James McElven, late of General Thomas A. Smyth Post, No. 1, G. A. R., was buried with military honors at Riverview Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The funeral was in charge of John R. Kilmer, and the services of the P. E. Church were conducted by Rev. T. Gardiner Litteil, D.D. Past Commander Jacob B. Sliffer was in command of the guard of honor, which was composed of W. S. McNair, John B. McClain, John Spence, John Zebley, Henry Manlove and Charles Pierce. The pall-bearers were Robert McCaulley, James M. Gillmore, Sylvester Solomon and George Reuss. A delegation of the Sons of Veterans were present and assisted in the burial. The regular General Army services were conducted at the grave, and the usual three volleys were fired over the remains by the guard of honor.
