WINSTON-SALEM- Catherine Carmichael Cole, 95, formerly of Archdale, passed away on Sunday. July 24th, 2016.
She was born in High Point on November 6th, 1920, to the late Sollie and Mamie Bodenheimer Carmichael. A resident of this area all of her life, she worked for Slane Hosiery and retired after 30 plus years of service. She was an active longtime member of Archdale United Methodist Church, as long as her health permitted. After retirement, Catherine enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Wendell Cole, to his different job sites up and down the East coast, and sightseeing.
She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great- grandmother and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents and husband, preceding her in death was a step sister, Nancy Robbins.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her sons, Gary Cole and his wife Linda, and Dennis Cole and his wife Mike; her sister, Violet Smith; her grandchildren, Jennifer Baldwin and her husband Reece, Amanda Cole, and Laura Lerch and her husband Kevin. Also surviving are 7 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Catherine’s life will be held 11 am Saturday, July 30th, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Reverend Harold Shives officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Friday, July 29th, at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at the Stratford in High Point; Carl and Annie Kitching, and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit, at Forsyth Medical Center; for their loving care and concern, shown to Catherine while she was in their care.
