Pauline Walter left us for eternal life on Nov. 18, 2006, due to an automobile accident.
Pauline was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Laurel, to Pete and Elizabeth Schreiner. Pauline was united in marriage to Virgil Walter on Nov. 19, 1937. Together, they made their home west of Billings.
Pauline was a very loving, strong and hardworking woman. She was always there to support and help her family in any way that she could. Grandma loved to treat her family and friends to her German cooking and homemade noodles. She took great pride in her rose garden, iris beds and violets. Grandma always made sure everyone in her family had handmade quilts and on Christmas, she gave a gift of love by hand-making Christmas ornaments for our trees.
Pauline is survived by her son, Burt Walter and wife Phyllis of Billings. She loved her grandchildren more than words could ever express. They include Theresa Caldwell and husband Travis, Brad Walter, Lisa Walter and her son, their only great-grandchild Samuel Walter, all of Billings, and Kristine VonForrell of Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by daughter Jeanette (Jim) Schroeder; sisters Mary Bangert, Helen (Jack) Kroll; brother Reynold (Annabell) Schreiner and many nieces and nephews.
Pauline was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Walter; her mother and father; and three brothers.
The values of life, determination and love she gave us will always and forever be in our hearts.
If tears could build a stairway to heaven we would walk right up and be with you. Lisa & Sam
Grandma, thank you for all the squeezes and hugs. I love you so much and I miss you. Theresa
Goodbye Old Timers. Sam
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the First Congregational Church, Laurel, with interment in the Laurel Cemetery.
